Our Team

therapy for healthcare nurses Victoria

Cynthia is a Registered Clinical Counsellor offering video and phone counselling to clients across British Columbia and Alberta. She supports individuals (16+) of all genders, backgrounds, and identities.

Cynthia offers a warm, calm, and welcoming space where you can be yourself. She understands that life experiences affect wellbeing, and can lead to stress, anxiety, and feelings of uncertainty and disconnection. You may be feeling stuck, questioning your path, or noticing unhelpful patterns repeating.

Whatever brings you to counselling, Cynthia is passionate about supporting you through challenges, helping you find meaning, and empowering you to move toward your goals. She believes in each person’s natural ability to heal and looks forward to walking alongside you on your journey.

Approach

Cynthia’s approach is relational, collaborative, and person-centered. She believes that each person knows themselves best and offers counselling that is respectful, compassionate, and culturally safe. Cynthia meets clients where they are and supports them in finding clarity, connection, and purpose.

As a Southeast Asian woman and second-generation immigrant, Cynthia understands how culture, race, gender, neurodivergence, and generational values can shape who we are and how we relate to others. She helps clients understand and connect with their emotions, while honouring stories from the past and building self-awareness using evidence-based approaches. Her focus is on supporting clients to recognize their strengths and unlearn patterns to create space for growth and change. Her practice is inclusive, non-judgmental, and anti-oppressive.

As a Registered Nurse, Cynthia has worked in many areas of healthcare and understands how the profession and its system can impact mental health, well-being, and personal and professional relationships. She understands that experiences can continue to live within our bodies and supports clients to understand the mind-body connection. Using a trauma-informed and holistic approach, she supports clients with burnout, stress, and finding balance between their personal and professional lives while respecting their individual needs.

What To Expect

In our sessions, you can expect a calm and welcoming space where you can slow down and speak freely. Each session is time for you to focus on what feels most important. Together, we explore your experiences through meaningful reflection and curiosity, with the goal of supporting self-awareness and empowerment towards your goals.

The counselling approaches Cynthia uses are tailored to your needs and personality, and often include emotion-focused, narrative, somatic, and parts-based theories.
