Kandice Mueller (she/her)
MACP, RCC
Kandice is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) providing online counselling for adults (18+) and couples across British Columbia, Alberta and the Territories.
Kandice brings over a decade of experience working in chronic illness, disordered eating, and nutrition counselling. Over this time, she saw how the healthcare system often reduces people to their weight or leaves them feeling judged, and discovered how powerful a genuine therapeutic relationship can be. As both a Registered Dietitian and Registered Clinical Counsellor, Kandice holds a dual perspective that prioritizes the connection between physical health and emotional well-being. She understands from the inside how complex and loaded the relationship between our bodies, our behaviours, and our sense of self can be.
Kandice's approach is warm, direct, and genuinely collaborative. Above all, she's invested in helping clients build a life that feels meaningful and aligned with their values. She has a quick wit and brings lightness and humour to sessions. She's engaged, curious, and willing to be honest, especially when she notices a pattern worth naming or a belief worth questioning. Her direct, no-nonsense style tends to resonate with people who are new to therapy, skeptical about the process, or who have spent years managing everything on their own.
Individually, she works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, ADHD, life transitions, relationship challenges, perinatal and postpartum adjustment, disordered eating, body image concerns, and emotional eating.
In her work with couples, Kandice helps partners get beneath the surface of what's eroding connection, trust, and intimacy. Drawing on Emotion-Focused Therapy and Gottman Method strategies, she supports couples in building self-awareness and the skills to navigate conflict in ways that bring them closer.
Kandice has a particular passion for supporting clients whose struggles sit at the intersection of physical and emotional health. For those living with chronic illness, diabetes, or other long-term health conditions, she offers a space where the grief, the identity shifts, and the exhaustion of managing something that never goes away can finally be talked about.
For those navigating disordered eating, emotional eating, or a difficult relationship with their body, she brings both clinical depth and genuine understanding, helping clients move past the next set of rules to build a relationship with food and movement rooted in compassion rather than control.
Kandice's practice draws on evidence-based approaches, tailored to each client’s concerns and preferences. Her primary modalities include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
